Why I do not see 300MG with SB6183 on Gigablast service?

I have SB6183 that is capable of 680MB easy.

I switched to 1G service. While I wait for the 1G modem, I expect to see 680MB on the current modem.

Why I see no change from 150MB service.

Why? Tech support on chat is useless.

Hi Nothinghere. As you need a DOCSIS 3.1 modem to get Gig service, your service won't upgrade from the current level you have until the new modem is activated. What issue? I want freedom to choose. I pay for 1G service and provide the 680M modem - what is the problem? I am happy with it?
