i have arris dg2460 and a c2c user in cox my question is why i have to up grade my modem to use the my wifi app just because im a c2c cox custmer

C2C is Connect2Compete (15 Mbps/1 Mbps). You don't need to upgrade. According to the following link, you should be good:
