The internet went out. Contacted Cox. After a lengthy and mostly meaningless chat, I was told that $75 fee would be required for a technician to come and replace the router. Or, I could pay $10 a month for Cox Complete Care. What kind of utility company charges customers to restore service? I have never been compensated for an outage.

Hi pearceyj,
I am sorry to learn of your internet loss. Friday is definitely not an ideal time to be without services. It sounds like we didn't do a great job explaining the details for a tech visit. If the source of the problem is in our equipment or outside your home, it is our responsibility and there is no charge for the visit. I do hope this helps you if you were pondering adding our Cox Complete Care plan. Most importantly, we are always happy to review your account for compensation when the services are not working as intended. Please feel free to send us an email to Cox.Help@cox.com or send us a private message via Facebook/dm via Twitter so that we may assist you further.
