email is down AGAIN!

this morning all of my email accounts cannot be accessed by outlook. don't bother telling me it's my computer, it's not, this keeps happening a couple of times a week. after a while it starts working again. the error messages vary.

sometimes it reports my usernames or passwords are wrong (they are not)

sometimes it reports the accounts are not available.

sometimes it reports the server is unavailable.

all my other non cox accounts work fine in outlook.

I have tried calling in but tier I support is always clueless about this stuff. IF I force this to get escalated to Tier II they (tier II) always tell me something is down. why can they not tell Tier I support about outages?

They really need a status page you can go to and find out if there are problems.

since email is down I won't get notices of respones to this post.

Here is the error over here on 4 accounts... I think this is a system wide error as I have confirmation from an associate in Moreno Valley having the same issue.

I'm having the same issue.  I have tried to my windows computer (thunderbird), and on a mobile phone (both on wifi and on cellular networks).  I have tried both imap and pop and every combination of settings.  Cox email is ****ed at the moment.

Webmail does seem to work though.

Same issue here.  Many ISP post system status to make users aware but not Cox.  They don't even tell their tech support when there is a system issue.

Same here.  Mail app on iphone error - 'pop.cox.net' - not responding.  Windows 10 Mail - 'error 0x80072746' .  Webmail seems to work however.  Phoned the support line - 'high call volumes, call back later'.  Phoenix area

Frustrating to say the least !!!

Exact same problem. Working on my Samsung, working on webmail, not working on my Mac. Texted support and they replied: "I will look into this for you." Then? Bubkis.

So, how has it been resolved. It started Friday morning (5/1) and now it is Saturday afternoon (5/2). I have the exact problems everyone else is having. I even though by changing my password on my cox acct, it would solve it, but the system will not let me change it.

If you're still experiencing problems you may need to go into your software's account settings and re-enter your credentials.

I'm having the same issue.  This seems to be a weekly problem.  I'm this close to changing internet providers.

It does seem to be happening more often lately...  Usually about once a month or so but usually resolves in an hour or less.  Using POP and outlook, thought about trying IMAP but doesn't seem to be any better.

We are having the exact same problem... MS Outlook was working fine this morning. But now it keeps giving us an error message stating that "the cox server pop.cox.net keeps dropping the connection."

You can tell Cox is having a problem with e-mail right now. I was literally going to access online chat and the chat link disappeared from the screen! No chat right now here.

I don't even get the chat link. Frustrating when you feel like you can do nothing about it.

If you're still encountering client access issues it may be necessary to go into your program's accounts settings and re-enter your credentials.

Orange County, CA: Inbound email off the server has been down in Outlook since Friday 5/1. Service to my iPhone and iPad unaffected.  Have gone thru all the setting verifications and password changes and still down. POS.

@Keith, Are you getting any error messages? Also, are you able to access this email account on our website at cox.com? -Allan, Cox Support Forums Moderator.
