cox transition to yahoo is a cluster

I have spent 4 days attempting to get this transition to work. NO one at cox complete care knows apple mail or iPhone. Royally messed up both my phone and desktop. I have been a cox customer for 30 years and am finished with this horrible customer service. This transition is NOT rocket science. IT SHOULD BE SEAMLESS. Cox is worthless on all levels. I am done with this company.

Hello. If your email address has already transitioned to Yahoo, then I recommend reaching out to Yahoo directly for support. Yahoo is providing customers with migrated cox.net email accounts 90 days of premium support starting the day that you first login to your Yahoo mailbox. You can reach them by calling 1-866-562-7250.

If you are having issues with anything dealing with our service, then I recommend sending an email with your full name, address, and a brief description of that concern to cox.help@cox.com.

Allan: Yahoo has no incentive to help out cox customers.  These issues should have all been ironed out before any transition.  All of the issues are due to Cox, not Yahoo.   It is completely unprofessional of Cox to just pass the buck to Yahoo.  Cox support should be working directly with Yahoo to fix and address all of these issues.

Cox should have tested the yahoo pop and imap servers on a testcase first.

WM, we will be happy to relay your feedback regarding this.  We do have a link that does help with some of the concerns customers are finding when setting up their new accounts with Yahoo https://www.cox.com/residential/support/completing-the-transition-to-yahoo.html in the bottom of that link.  There is a link that will provide some additional support with setting up third-party clients.

HELP PLEASE

I’ve tried repeatedly with both cox chat and cox complete care to set up my (New Yahoo) on my Apple MacBook and iPad email clients.
It does not work.
I’ve been told I need to contact either Yahoo or contact Apple.

1. Why is this now my problem to resolve?
2. Why is Cox Complete care, which I pay for, not able to resolve?
3. Why wasn’t this corrected prior to the transition?

The REASON you are having issues with POP and IMAP using a MAIL CLIENT with yahoo mail, is because you HAVE to follow instructions.

https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4075.html

The IMPORTANT part to note here - The EMAIL address is now the COMPLETE Email address, XYZ@Cox.Net

Your login info

  • Email address - Your full email address (name@domain.com)
  • Password - Generate App Password
  • Requires authentication - Yes

You HAVE to generate an APP PASSWORD -

https://help.yahoo.com/kb/generate-manage-rd-party-passwords-sln15241.html

After you generate the AQPP password, use THAT password in your email client, not the password you use to login to yahoo mail on the yahoo site.

It's always a link. As if that's going to solve everything. Time for Cox to start talking to people and educating their staff when a huge move like this happens.  I'm glad to get out from Cox as a service provider for email. They never updated when Apple made updates and it screwed up receiving my email on my Apple account many times over the  years.

This will be one of the reasons I leave Cox after 23 years.  The reason I always chose to use Cox webmail was for the simplicity of it. No in your face ads, etc..  If I wanted Yahoo I would have signed up for Yahoo.  Cox you are a huge disappointment. First with outrageous pricing, and now moving email service to Yahoo.

If you don't want ads, setup your email client. Then all you have to do is open the client and access your mail. Very simple.
