ARRIS SB8200 Firmware not Updating

I have recently upgraded my modem to the ARRIS SB8200 and the firmware will not update.

This happens every time it tries to update.

Any ideas?

It indicates that the firmware you are getting is for a different model of 8200. I would verify that you actually have an SB8200. If you purchased a used or refurbished 8200 and it was re-flashed to the original code, it's ruined and won't be able to be updated, you will need to return it.

Thank you for your reply. Everything on the modem indicates it is SB8200. I even had COX remove it from my account and re-provision it and the same thing is still happening. I did purchase it re-furnished :/

Why would re-flashing it ruin it? Wouldn’t that just reset it to factory?

It would but most people when they flash it, are not doing so with an approved version of firmware, and you end up with a used/refurbed modem that cannot be updated. If you purchased it as a refurb or used modem, you may want to replace it, as it will never ever be able to be updated.

You could try to reset it to its factory default settings.

I have purchased another one, new out of the box and the same thing is happening. The only difference with this modem is that the out of box firmware is newer but it still won’t  be update :/ …

Hardware version: 6
Current firmware: AB01.01.009.51_080720_183.0A.NSH

What is the current COX provisioned firmware for this modem?

If you have a account over on DSLReports, you may want to take this subject over there. A thread very similar to this was made over there and resolved by Odog, a Cox employee there.
