I am beyond frustrated with Cox Communications and the absolutely ridiculous amount of time I have wasted trying to resolve what should be a straightforward billing issue.
I have been charged for services at a location where I was no longer residing, and getting anyone at Cox to take responsibility or provide a consistent answer has been an absolute nightmare.
I have spoken with multiple customer service representatives, a manager, and the collections department. I was instructed to visit a Cox store on three separate occasions, only to receive absolutely no meaningful assistance.
After repeatedly calling customer service and receiving conflicting information, I finally spoke with a manager over the phone, who informed me that my account was in collections. When I contacted the collections department, however, I was told the exact opposite—that my account was NOT in collections. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, the collections representative then HUNG UP ON ME without transferring me to the department she claimed I needed to speak with.
How does a company this large have employees who cannot even agree on the status of a customer's account? And why is it the customer's responsibility to figure out which department is telling the truth?
The complete lack of accountability, communication, and basic competence is astonishing. Every person I speak with either gives me conflicting information, sends me somewhere else, or simply fails to help. Meanwhile, the charges remain on my account, and I'm expected to continue wasting my time chasing down a resolution.
I have spent far too much time making phone calls, visiting stores, navigating automated answering systems, and repeating the same information to people who apparently have neither the authority nor the willingness to resolve the problem.
This is not customer service. This is an exhausting cycle of incompetence and disregard for customers' time.
The ONLY reason I am still doing business with Cox is because my current residence already has its services. If I had another option, I would have absolutely no interest in continuing a relationship with a company that treats its customers this way.
I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I want the charges for services at a location where I no longer lived removed from my account. That should not require multiple phone calls, three store visits, conversations with management, and a collections representative hanging up on me.
Cox Communications needs to take responsibility, correct this billing issue, and stop forcing customers to jump through hoops to fix problems that should never have become this complicated.
At this point, an apology isn't enough. I want an actual resolution.
One star is generous considering the amount of time and frustration this company has caused.
