WIFI LED on Modem/router Netgear CG3000D

When I first bought this wireless modem/router, I noticed that the WiFi light was always lit. I would push the on/off button and no change. I called tech support and was told that my WiFi was off and not useable by anyone else. Now, I am starting to suspect that some else is no my modem/router. I need to know without a doubt that the WiFi is off. I am using it in wired mode. I am a gamer and can not live with any delay that may happen from wireless. Do I need to bring it back? I have the original receipt and box. It was purchased on 3/13/13.

You can disable the wifi broadcast which according to the documentation we've been given will disable the wifi.  The light will not change and the button is inactive on North American devices however.

Ok where in the documents do I find out how to disconnect. I had the CD and looked at it but could not find anything on how to disable the WiFi. Please lead me in the right direction to finding it. LarryO

I know it is in the manual somewhere. I was asking for a hint as to where in the manual it is located. I did not see a title saying WiFi on/off other than the on/off switch which you told me was disconnected. So, under what title or subsection do I find this "How to disable WiFi"

After doing a Google search, I found your article on the internet explaining how to disable the WiFi. I followed those instructions. I know the box says that the WiFI is disabled but with that light on, I just am not comfortable. You can consider this one closed, now that I found the instruction. I never did find it explained as how to turn off or disable the WiFI in the CD manual version. It may have shown it, the its explanation was not clear. Gniffe
