Just got 3 Cisco 8642HDC's to replace the old Motorola boxes I had. I heard that since we have multiple masters, we can record say, 2 things on one box, while still being able to watch something else on the same box at the same time?

To clarify, each master box has two tuners in it. This allows each box to record up to two shows at once however they will not be able to tune additional programming in this situation. In your specific situation you can set a master box to record two shows at the same time and watch other live programming in another room.

Our solution, which sounds strange, was to setup a 2nd remote box in the same room as the master box (requiring that we make sure the remote input for the master was blocked). We basically control everything from our 2 remote boxes now. Course, we can still only record 2 shows at a time, which can be a problem on certain days when I have up to 4 shows I would like to record.
