When is Cox Communications coming out with?

Cox doesn't make modems. If your asking when DOCSIS 3.1 is coming, probably mid 2015.

Speaking at last week's DOCSIS 3.1 Engineering Symposium in Atlanta, Jeff Finkelstein, executive director of strategic architecture for Cox Communications Inc. , said his company is willing to do "anything we can do to help." Jorge Salinger, vice president of access architecture for Comcast Corp. (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK), said MSOs should plan now to put Docsis 3.1 hardware in the budget for 2015.

Yes, I know Cox doesn't make modems. I misspoke, I was just wondering when the newer modems would be coming out with them. I meant when are they getting them from Comcast for their customers like myself. Thanks for the info even though it seems mid 2015 is a longer wait than I anticipated. 

Comcast doesn't make modems either. There made by companies like Cisco(Belkin), Motorola, etc.

Just for some background, it usually starts with Cablelabs laying down the DOCSIS initial standards, and welcome the different ISP for their input. Then they agree on a standard. Its at that point the hardware manufacturers produce units and send them out to ISP for testing. Theres some firmware patching and such, and then some beta testing (usually employees or certain volunteers). Then the modems are given to ISP to give to customers, and later given to retail to sell. This whole process takes time, usually a year or two. I think Cablelabs just released the initial specs in October of 2013.
