What is the status of Cox offering the WatchESPN application to use on the iPAD. FIO, Comcast, Brighthouse, etc all offer this option. Depending on the answer will determine staying with Cox or going to FIOS.

Like everything ESPN offers there is a price attached to it. We have to have enough demand from our customers to justify the cost this would increase. We do currently offer ESPN3 but not from the iPad. I will make sure your request it sent up. As we get more request for this service we will evaluate if the increased cost to all of our customers warranted.

You add my name to the request list for Watch ESPN. I travel a lot and want to leverage my Cox service. Thanks

I want it and I'm sure many, many other folks do too. How are they supposed to let you know? I don't think many folks even know about this forum.

I too want to WatchESPN on the ipad. I contacted Cox about this and they had me send an email to ESPN. ESPN sent me a reply that said contact Cox. I don't think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing.
Cox even has an answer in their help section to just use the full website of watchespn.com This does not work because it just keeps sending you to the app. Even after I deleted the app off my ipad, it tried to open the app.
A Cox rep told me to just watch it off Cox Connect app. That was funny because there are no sports channels or network channels on the Cox Connect app.
I did not know about this forum. Please help.

I find it ironic that WATCH ESPN is "powered by Cox" yet Cox customers can only see ESPN 3 events. Add me to the list.

Count me in as one who loves ESPN3 and only wish I had access to all ESPN games through Watch ESPN! PLEASE Cox! That would make my year! Especially at the beginning of football season.

Really, you have to see if there's demand for WatchESPN online? Gee... I wonder if there could be...
To clarify - this is no longer about app access, it's about access, period. We who are Cox subscribers can no longer watch ANY live programming on WatchESPN.com (on PCs or Macs) that isn't specifically designated as ESPN3 content (which is basically cricket and Canadian football right now). All the good stuff, college football, basketball, etc, basically anything from ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, is closed off for us.
Add me to the list that wants Cox as one of the providers that can get WatchESPN content. As for cost... *** it up, Cox. You already overcharge, how about putting that money to good use.

Cox:
Is there an update to the status of offering WatchESPN on Cox? My contract runs out next month and it will be a major factor in switching to Verizon FIOS after being a 16 years Cox Customer. Are there negotiations going on or in your opinion as the provider is the "demand" not there to add the service?

Cox needs to offer access to ESPN period. It should be offered on both the Cox TV app and also on the Watch ESPN app.
It is really really irritating that ESPN 3 is available to cox and I can watch games from my xbox, but if I am on my xbox i might at well watch it on my tv. Get with the mobility era cox.
Also, PAC-12 network should be available too, and to more than just the west coast. Turns out there are people on the east coast that would like to watch the games from the west, especially when the #2 team is on the PAC-12 net.

You must be kidding Cox Communications. Smart phones and tablets are the major way people connect to the Internet now. Tablet sales out numbered laptops this year! We don't want to lug around a laptop with us to enjoy watching ESPN3. We want to watch it to and from were ever we are going. Please pay ESPN gods what they want to offer the selection. If you really want to compete with FIOS and Comcast in the same markets you need to offer the same level of service. You sure enough charge as much for it. Right now, I'm thinking about switching to FIOS again. Maybe Google's new Internet service will have more choices too.

In order to make it official, go to the ESPN website, click on the GET ACCESS tab at the top of the page, enter your zip code and provider. Fill out the rest of the info on the next page and hit SUBMIT!
I just did!

I agree and used this service all the time! Please work out the situation with espn3/watchespn. It's extremely frustrating to have elements of our service taken away from us as costs continue to rise.
