User Settings (Channels Skipped) were reset once again
I have a Contour box and for the third time in two months all of my user settings for channels skipped were reset again. This also happened twice in the three months prior to that when I didn't have a Contour box. I had DirecTV for TWO YEARS and never ONCE did I lose my channel settings. This tells me that my user settings are not stored locally on my box but remotely on the network.
This is absolutely inexcusable considering the money I pay for services. A setting such as channels skipped is such a basic function for Cox to continually screw this up is ridiculous. At least twice a month when I turn on my box it it tuned to channel 96; in 12+ years of having a Scientific Atlanta (now Cisco) box with a cable company in the New York area I may have had my channel reset to default three times.
If this continues I will be filing complaints with the BBB and the FCC. You cannot tell me that Cox has no control over this.

Odd, but I've had Trio/Contour well over two years. In that time, not once have my skipped channels reset. Zilch. Are you sure that an evil stepchild isn't trying to drive you crazy? All he/she has to do is press one key on the remote to "deselect all." Try selecting and naming a "new user" without telling anybody. Select "skipped channels" for this new user. See if they "deselect" at the same time as the default user "skipped channels" deselect. If they do, go find "little Johnny."

I live alone, no one resets my tv. Again this morning I turned on the tv and it was tuned to channel 96. I NEVER tune the tv to that channel.

A. Was your TV tuned to channel 96, or was your STB tuned to channel 96? B. What is channel 96? Do you leave your STB on and tuned to a SDV channel overnight? Try turning your STB off overnight.
