Upgraded Docsis 3.0 / Cox Premier, Capped at ~30Mbps?

I upgraded my modem to a Motorola SB6183 and Cox Internet Premier (100Mbps), but my speed is capped at 30Mbps.  Will someone check out my account to see what's going on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Don't forget too that if you're using a wireless-G router you'll see similar speeds.  I'd suggest testing without any router you may be using to see if there is a difference.

Thanks for the quick reply- I'm plugged directly into the modem and both my computer and modem are gigabit. I get ~30Mbps even using the speed-test tool on The Cox website. Thanks for looking into this.

We may need to take a look at the modem then.  Email us at cox.help@cox.com with the account info and we can take a closer look. -Chris

Problem solved-

The service codes for the modem were showing old information, so they just needed updating.  Thanks!

I hope my note gets to you, Chris. You seem to solve these issues. I just emailed support because I upgraded my modem to a DPC3010 today and spent the day on the phone with Cox, hoping to get better speeds. I ended up getting the preferred internet for the next year, and the speeds went from 5.47DL and .91 UL to 35.17/5.07 I hope to get a bit more than this. Please check for my email to support.

The problem in your case doesn't appear to be related to service codes or any other provisioning issues.  Could you try testing your speeds both with and without the router and let us know what you find?

I did try it directly connected, and it is 59.95 DL and 3.84 UL. My router is a Belkin N300 F9K1002V4, do I need to upgrade it?

It sounds like you're getting the correct speeds without the router.  That doesn't necessarily mean it needs replacing but it could be holding you back.  I'd check wired speeds with the router to see if there is any difference.  Also if you're testing wireless make sure you don't have any wireless-G devices connected, the router will need to reduce the wireless speeds to match so that everything will connect.  Note to that routers are just small appliance PC's and their CPU's will limit the overall speed that the router is capable of supporting.  This speed is generally not advertised by the router manufacturer and is often lower that the speeds of the wireless and Ethernet ports.
