Cox will not admit the Premium Service Suks. or PSS.
Are they trying to shed customers?
Search "Premium Speed" and see what I mean.
Resolution? They say you need a tech. So they are willing to give up customers to promulgate this charade.
One poster said not worth $80 a month. They should be paying me instead of a tech for putting up with this **.

What are you talking about? Do you mean Premier Tier? Did you try a self install and it didn't work? Even as a rant I don't understand your post.

Can you provide the link? And how does a bad link have anything to do with the Premier tier and speed of internet?

I have premier/premium internet - even over wifi in a different room, I get about 80-100Mbps.
The problem with most connections is the wifi bottleneck. Most single-band consumer grade wifi routers/gateways just can't put through decent bandwidth on the 2.4Ghz band. Too much interference from everything; microwave ovens, other routers, neighbor's routers, old school 802.11b devices, baby monitors, *** even some brands of cordless phones use the 2.4Ghz band.
FYI - despite there about 11 different channels on the 2.4 Ghz band, most consumer routers choose 1, 6, or 11 - 2.4Ghz is leaky. So something on channel 6 leaks +/- 2 channels either direction. I've got, as a generic sample, 11 different routers that I can see on the 2.4 Ghz band. Figure 3-4 routers per channel, and that's a lot of interference.
If you have the option, use the 5Ghz band for devices you need fast speeds on. Printers can use 2.4Ghz with no issues, and other low-bandwidth devices.
Pay the extra money either to a retailer or to Cox for the dual band wifi gateways/wifi routers.
