Updated IPAD to IOS 8

I recently updated my IPAD to IOS 8 . I have a modem and Wi-Fi router combo (Motorola SBG6580). After the update I could not get on to my cox Wi-Fi home network. I reset the modem and changed the password, to see if that helps. I was able to connect my computer and wireless printer but not my ipad or my iphone 5 (also running IOS 8). The cox articles I have found refer only to IOS 7. Is there more current info from Cox on IOS 8?

Hello Ipaduser,

I am not aware of any known issues with IOS 8 dealing with our service. Is the device able to see the wireless network?

Thanks,

Allan - Cox Support Forums Moderator.

Yes both the ipad and the iphone see my network and request a password. It will not accept my password, even though it is correct and works on my other devices. Apple says its my provider (Cox)

@Ipaduser

In this particular instance your wifi provider would actually be Motorola as how you're using a Motorola router.  You could try resetting the router to factory defaults and connecting using the information on the label.  If that doesn't help it might be necessary to reach out to Motorola for further assistance.

Thank you for your quick responses. I have done the factory reset and still can not connect my apple products. I will reach out to Motorola, thank you again for your help.. Cox should provide a support article for IOS 8 anyway. It is the biggest change Apple has made to their operating systems.

There have been many reports of WiFi connection issues with iOS 8, the forums are littered with them.  A couple of things to try, sorry if you have already tried them.

1. Make sure you are on the latest iOS version - 8.3
2. Reset network settings on your iOS device: Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings.  This will clear all network cache and reset all settings.  You will have to reconnect / enter password again but all other device settings should not be effected.
3. If all else fails, as a last resort, a factory reload of iOS 8.3.  This will wipe out everything and you will have restore from a backup or setup your device again.

I went directly from iOS 7 to 8.3 bypassed all early releases and haven't had any WiFi issues.  But, as the other forum posts indicate, YMMV.  Again, sorry if I have duplicated things you already tried.
