I am about to pull the plug on Cox completely but would love some help or advice.
I have had connection issues in my house for the last 7 years.
My cable has generally worked fine throughout the whole time but the internet has been terrible. It usually seems to work ok during the week during business hours (I can see my wifi cam) but come the weekend it always looses connection & now its got spotty during the week too. I've bought a new modem (per Cox support advice), I've had Cox Techs to the house numerous times, on the roof, in the attic, lets change this splitter, this whatever & still have the same issue.
I had Cox phone for a while too & it was absolutely worthless... it worked less than it ever did so I finally got rid of it.
Any ideas, help, suggestions?

My first question is you mentioned a wifi cam? Could you go into that a bit more? Do you mean your checking it off site and it goes down? Or are you checking it from a different computer on the home network and it goes down? What kind of wifi cam is it?
Next, what are your signal levels. You can usually find them on 192.168.100.1 but if that doesn't work respond with what kind of modem you have and I can give specifics.

The signal loss issue has been around long before the wifi cam. I just loose internet connection randomly but you can count on loosing it more starting Friday evening thru Sunday. I have to unplug the router for a while then plug it back in and that fixes the problem most (but not all the time). It is just me & my wife so the usage isn't crazy high & the cam is off if we are home.
For example, we left to go to dinner last night the internet was working, I arrive home a couple hours later its not working, I unplug the router & plug it back in & it starts working. We go to bed a couple hours later & is still working, wake up this morning not working, unplug/replug works, leave the house 30 minutes later not working.
The cam is a DropCam I use for a combo of security & dog monitoring. I check it from an iPhone app or another computer. When the internet is working the cam works great.
I am away from the modem now but can check signal levels later today.
