unable to view channel 8

Roanoke VA, 24014  Channel 8 which is FOX is always temporarily off air. I have reset receiver which corrected premium channels, but some the non premium are still showing TOA. What are your thoughts? These are channels that are paid for and not getting the service. If you are able to see the issues with the channels before I reset the receiver, please let me know what the issue was. is there a possibility for some credit to my bill?

Hi stdoyle,

It sounds like you may need a service appointment to have a technician investigate this issue. If you haven’t scheduled one already email us at cox.help@cox.com with this post, your full name and complete address.

I did and the problem was a filter on the line at the pole. Excellent service tech.

Hello,

By reset, did you have a signal sent to the receiver, or have the power unplugged? To the receiver, I recommend unplug the power for no more than 2 minutes, and verify the coaxial connections to the wall and receiver, then reconnect the power and allow the reset to complete before adjusting the channels. Is there a splitter or signal amplifier attached to the coaxial cable between the wall and the receiver? Are other TVs in the home duplicating the same thing?

I am having the same problem, no channel 8 along with a few other channels. Same issue on all 3 TVs each has a mini box connected. I only have one signal splitter in the house and it has been replaced. I tried unplugging the the mini boxes, running channel scans with no change. It appears to be something on Cox's end. Any ideas?

@stdoyle

Does your guide list channel 8? Are you able to view 1008 HD?

Jonathan, Yes the guide does list Channel 8 with a description of whats playing. I tried 1008 and it goes to channel 950. I have the TV starter package. The channels that I am missing are 3,4,8,19,22,38,106,107,116,118,130 and 132. Thanks.

I am having the same problem, only the premium (HD) channels are out and the standard def channels are working.  Channels that are out and showing error code 3.1.1.2 are:

Fox - 1008

PBS - 1004

Discovery - 1014

Freeform - 1016

Lifetime - 1027

I have reset my equipment both via power cycle and having service reset through online support and neither resolved the issue.

annabelle,

Is the cable straight from the wall to the receiver or is there a splitter?

Stephanie,

The reciever cable goes in straight into the wall, although I believe there is a splitter outside the house.  We only have one receiver so I am not sure if it is isolated to one TV/coax jack or not.

annabelle,

Please swap the ends of the cable, what's in the wall put in the receiver and vice versa. If the issue continues, I suggest scheduling an appointment. Please email us at cox.help@cox.com with the account details and a link to this post.
