Ultimate Internet Package not getting close to 300 Mbps
Hi
Recently I asked a question about why I was only getting 80 Mbps with the Ultimate Internet package. I was told that I needed a better modem with more downstream. So I took that advice and bought myself a new modem the Netgear CM600 which has 24 Downstream. After making the upgrade I am getting more Mbps, but I'm not getting close to the 300 Mbps I am supposed to be getting. I am only getting up to about 185 Mbps on the Cox speed test and 173 - 175 Mbps on speedtest.net.
Thank you

Thank you for posting your results. Was this test run on wireless or wired to the modem or router?

The test was run while wired to the router.

I had to call Cox and have them physically change me over to the 300/30 speeds (it's not automatic despite the more capable modem).
I routinely get the 300mbps down. The upstream (which Cox notoriously routes badly and manages poorly - and does not provide at any reliable level) is more around 10mbps (if one is lucky).

Everything looks correct with the modem when I check from this end. Can you try testing wired to the modem and see what results you get?

So after trying to direct connect my modem to PC and it not working. I did some troubleshooting and it looks like I had improperly set up a static IP and static DNS. After setting that up properly with the router connected I am getting the speeds I should be seeing and more! Thanks for your guys time.
