the dreaded min box and using a dvd recorder - Magnovox MDR557H
Good day,
I will be attempting to connect the mini box soon since my channels are disappearing.
Will I still be able to record on the 2 magnovox MDR557H HDD and DVD recorder with digital tuner that i have using the
connection diagram provided by cox

if not is there a bigger and better cable box from COX I can try?

Yes you can record with your DVR (I had two of the magnovox dvrs on a splitter before the need for a cable box). However you can only record the channel that the mini box is tuned to. Although you have a digital receiver, the cable output will be scrambled. The TV and the DVR will forever stay on CH3 or CH4 whichever matches the setting on the switch on the rear of the mini box. No DVR programmed channel changes... and no recording one program while watching another. I ended up going with the contour record 6 DVR. There is also a record 2 DVR available.
