SURFboard® SBG6782-AC randomly cuts internet to all users wired or wireless

so thats it. its been happening for a while. the basic unplug for 10sec to a minute does not fix. i also recently did a factory reset from logging into the ip address and that (surprisingly) got me back to to my paid for speeds (100Mb/s Down). but the random drops still happen.

Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

i already called cox and they reset the internet from their end and also said their logs are showing no errors. and then suggested to call motorola/aris

he table below contains the log of events that the SBG6782-AC has detected. This log can be important to the service provider to help diagnose and correct problems, if any should occur.

Looks like it lost the downstream for a minuet or two, but happen twice, once before the reset, and once after, That's the 3 T4 timeouts in several minuets.What are your signal levels? My guess is a problem with the downstream SNR.

I don't know why Cox would not have seen these errors.

does this help?

Wow, that signal is great too. Only thing unusual is a low upstream, but unless there's a problem with the upstream SNR, that shouldn't be a problem. Maybe a moderator can see something we can't?

I have exact same problem with mine and have yet to get Cox to resolve. Please let me know if you get anywhere with them. Cox suggested sending a tech out but that doesn't do any good on a random issue that is more than likely a signal issue. Hope you get issue resolved and if so, please share!!!

@llangley

The transmit power levels being reported by your modem are a bit below our minimum specification which is something we would want to have a technician come out and take a look at.  I'd also check to see if you're seeing the random connection drops with wired connections or just wireless.  That could indicate another problem taking place.

Hey ChrisL. Thanks for the reply. We lose wireless and wired connections. The laptop I use for primary internet surfing is hard wired to the router (and yes, wireless network card is disabled). I posted another thread a few days ago and EdwardH suggested I unplug the amplifier which I did today and about 2 minutes after I unplugged the amp, the television dropped signal, then came back on, then dropped again, etc. even after rebooting the cable box, the signal would go in and out on the television...
