Surfboard SB6141 modem drops internet several times per day
After switching out (and activating) my new cable modem...I experience internet drops.
I switched out the SB5120 with a SB6141, due to a message that I needed to upgrade to a Docsis 3 modem.
The drops happen several times per day...even while online (not just dormant).
I've called to have a tech look at signals (phone-in rep said signal looked ok on her end, but wanted to schedule an appt, anyway)
I never lose my home network thru my router...just the ability to get on the internet.
The only work around I have right now is to reboot the modem, after it drops connection.
I'm in the Wichita, KS area

First, signal levels look very good.
Logs don't appear to show the problem. Call the last line of log at 09:59:52 line 1, and going up I see you rebooting the modem on line 2 and line 6, and then Cox rebooting it at line 9, and then you rebooting it at line 13 and line 16. Since up is after in the log, the T3 only happen after the reboot, so they aren't the cause of the problem, just a symptom of it. Transmit errors are sometimes common when a modem reboots.
The MIMO event is just the modem calling home to check it's configuration file, and the TLV-11 is the modem registering that configuration file. So if your losing the internet each time your modem downloads the configuration file i would guess maybe a provisioning issue. Do you know what IP the modem gives out when you have the issue?

tech came this am...said signals were good...found a couple of loose connections at the line to the house and a couple inside the house at TV's/DVR box.
He said noise was the problem...and they would continue to monitor it for a few days..
THX for the feedback, and THX to COX making the home call.

Ok, I guess the config download was just part of the modem rebooting, so the cause doesn't seem to be recorded in the logs. Noise could cause a T3, so that makes sense.

Can a moderator tell us anymore about the DOCSIS MIMO? Looks like its in the log as downloading some kind of config file for it, and looks like modem is in Honor MDD IP mode. Could be wild goose chase, but is this normal? Its hard to tell what is causing the crash and what is a effect of the crash. I assume your still having the issue OP?

MDD IP Mode Override basically indicates how the modem gets an IP address, and is determined by how we happen to be handling IPs in that area at that time. I think Honor MDD is the default. It's all in the MAC and Upper Layer Protocols Interface Specification, but at some point I go cross-eyed.
Essentially, the modem is going to have to check it occasionally, and I don't think it matters much what the setting is.

Greetings to all
I have the exact same issue, I thought it was my old docsis 2.0 modem which was 8 years old so I bought and activated the Motorola SB6141 with the latest firmware but the problem is still there.
The problem started three weeks ago with a major COX outage which lasted 6 hours in Orange County and since then it has been going on with at least a couple disconnects everyday..
The only thing that resets it is to pull the plug on the cable modem and plug it back in a minute or two.
I know it's a COX problem because the entries in he SB6141 log for the date Jan 01 1970, are generic entries that only appear when modem loses connection with the ISP and there is one of them for every time I lost connection.
Which is so far three times even with the new Motorola SB6141.

This doesn't sound like a issue related to the OP. Sounds like something happened in the area which has started a intermid problem. Your in CA and the OP is in KS. Maybe the symptoms are the same but everything in logs turned out "normal" and the problem was tracked down by a technician to be signal related. Perhaps create your own thread?
