I'm sure people have asked many times before. But why do I pay for 100 mbps, and never get above 25? It annoys me to no end. I'm on wifi, so yeah I would expect it to be a bit lower than ethernet. But even on ethernet it usually peaks around 30-35. I disconnect a lot during online games and such, and I don't know whether it's Cox, my router (only 6 months old), or my wifi card.

I know that it's not as reliable as the cox speedtest, but these are my results right now. I mean I can understand if it's a high traffic time of day and such but it's still just absurd.

The latency looks normal, and the upload doesn't look to be as negativity effected. Seems to me to be a capacity issue. What speeds do you get if you go hard wired to the modem?
Also, what model modem and router do you have?

I would suggest for starters seeing if a wired connection gets the full speed. As for the wifi, do you know if you're using G or N or something else?
