Sports surcharge

I just noticed the sports surcharge on my Cox bill.  In August after speaking with CS it was taken off now I am told on chat that it can't be removed.  After reading the other posts I am not  the only one that is upset about this charge.  I do not watch sports and with the amount of money these stations make and  how much the players make it  doesn't make sense that someone like me has to subsidize sports.  Maybe if enough people complain or just plain cut the cable they will get the message. I am also one thinking of getting TV from upgraded Hulu or Sling TV.  I told CS if I was going to pay $60 a year to subsidize it would not be sports esp. now with all the politics entering the picture.  I wanted to know who to write to but was only given a phone number which will probably get me nowhere.
