slow speed

so I have the premier service that advertises up to 100Mbps. I get around 30 at best. We b pages are laggy on computer and ipad takes several seconds to load. Have reset everything, replaced house cables and modem cables.. Does cox cap speeds? I don't feel like I have been getting what I paid for. I have called support several times and I feel I am getting a new hire just reading from scripts.

Everything looks good as far as the modem is concerned from this end.  Are you by chance testing your speeds with a wireless-G device?  Those will max out right around 30Mbps or so.

I have tried removing everything down to the modem and the same. Cox spliced my wire into the house last summer as a fence installer cut it. never has been the same. Any suggestions? I called before and was told I had a high packet loss

I didn't see any packet loss but it doesn't appear anybody has tried resetting the modem or connecting anything different to it in the past few weeks.  I went ahead and sent a reset from here.  If that doesn't help it may be worth trying again without the router to see if that makes a difference.

Same problem here.   I was getting just over 100Mbps a month ago but then someone from Cox came by, tinkered with the line coming in to the house, and since then I haven't got more than 50 down, usually around 25-30Mbps down and it seems to be getting worse every week. It is sad to see Cox has gotten so horrible lately as I used to champion the service.

The speed remains the same whether I am connected directly to the modem or the router.  The router is wireless n with 1Gb Ethernet ports.  I am connected directly by Ethernet. The modem signals are within range and look fine.

@Rewire

It looks like you have one of the older 4 channel DOCSIS 3.0 modems.  While technically it should work it's not recommended for 100Mbps service and will be at a disadvantage in terms of having access to extra capacity during periods of high demand.  I would however first suggest testing without the router so as to eliminate as many other variables as possible before deciding to spend money to upgrade anything.
