Just got the Explorer 4642hdc box in my bedroom. Is there anyway to completely turn off display lights or at least brightness setting? Even with the clock turned off when powered down, the remaining things on display are really bright.

I don't believe so. I found Cisco's manual here and there is no mention of that ability:

Thank you for looking it up for me. You would think for all the stuff they build into the trio software, they would leave in the simple things like dimming the display or tuning it off completely for those that don't like extra lights while sleeping.

In Trio, go to SETTINGS->RECEIVERS->POWER MANAGER->FRONT PANEL STATUS->ON WITH RECEIVER
Your entire front panel goes off (including the clock) when you power OFF the unit.
