I just activated Cox HSI in Orange County (Irvine) with this modem that I bought from Amazon.com. Apparently, it's an OEM version, with old FW - 1.0.6.3. Speed is really slow 2-5 mbps. I have a Tech scheduled to visit Wed 5pm. Does this modem work with Cox, or should I return it and get a different modem (possible the retail SB6141, or something else?
Bonding is only 4 channels down, 2 up, and I have Preferred (18 mbps).
Thanks,
David

The retail and OEM versions have the same internals, and our system will update firmware during the maintenance cycle based on criteria set at the headend (model X must have version > Y, and sometimes must have version < Z), and yours has been updated overnight which fixed the known issue in that region with firmware older than 1.0.6.10, but your upstream power is still out of spec, so if you still get less than ~18mbps I'd suggest keeping the service call.
