Same problem back again for the 3rd year

Here I am sitting at my computer logging my internet going off and on, My Television Pixilating, and my phone not ringing. I had a tech scheduled to come out Saturday. When he didn't show, I called the tech number and they said he called and came by, there was no one home. That was quite the surprise since I was in front of my house doing yard work all day while my wife waited for a phone call. 2nd time this has happened. Now for the meat of the problem. I'm the last house on this line and for the past 2 years when we get into the rainy season. I start losing my cable service and so does my next door neighbor. I have called in and asked to have the problem be elevated since it's a long term issue. You would think I was asking for the persons first born. What they have done in the past is replace all of the cable from the pole through the house X2 Added two separate boosters Reset my boxes. god knows how many times Had a ticket put in for the main line X2 Sent technicians out at least 20 times

Did you want to troubleshoot? If so, can you give some data on the equipment involved and how it's configured? If you are requesting a technician, then you can either call them or contact via other methods given in forum welcome sticky. FYI this is not direct support, but a public forum for all Cox customers.

No thanks on the offer to help troubleshoot. Just providing feedback on the difficulty in getting a 3 year old problem repaired.

I looked at your account and it appears our maintenance team got involved and has since resolved the ticket they were given.  If you're still experiencing any problems we'd be happy to assist further.

just to add, I've had ongoing issues for more then 5 years so this appears to be the norm with cox. I've dumped everything but the net and even that's questionable. Reset levels, clean up the noise, wait a couple months and repeat.

I wish you luck.

It rained last night and the problem is back. I'll open up another help ticket Tuesday morning. I would be real nice to be able to elevate these issues.

fmangas,

Can you share a picture of where you see the icon? We've been trying to recreate this without success.

Im not sure if your referring to the poster or myself, ether way, "looking into your account" , that's funny considering your team throws band-aids on the issues that  "resolves" any problem only to have it reappear when the weather changes or a plane fly's over.

a month is acceptable to isolate and repair said problems, not years on end!

From my repeated interactions with the techs, there not the ones at fault as they are limited in what issues are repairable. Time and time again(year after year) it falls on the maintenance department and an outside IT vender,

bottom line from a layman's point of view, Cox's superior infrastructure and fiber optics Should outperform a 1950's copper phone wire from another vender in the area when referring to internet but does not, repeatedly yet im viewed as an isolated problem.... Welcome to west suffield Cox service

I wish you luck

I'm not sure what icon your talking about? I can graph my internet signal while i'm streaming and watch the download disappear for several minutes. The upload continues to poll for service.

Hi Fmangas,

I think Colleen's reply may have been meant for a different thread. Please disregard. I apologize for the confusion!

I'd like to see what's happening on our end when your download "disapears." When this happens again, please run the speed test at www.cox.com/residential/internet/speed-test.cox several times and provide the results.

Sometimes the simplest little problems can be the biggest headaches.  I'm happy to hear they figured it out finally.  Let us know if you continue to experience any problems.

Well it looks like it's back again. For the past week the internet has been working sporadically, the TV has be pixilating and going completely black.

From this end the modem looks OK so I wonder if the problem may not have a common cause. Could you see if the Internet works any better without the router attached for starters?

I have connected directly into the Modem. I graphed internet usage on 1 screen and streamed music on the other. I would lose internet for a max of 3 minutes and a minimum of 30 seconds. I've called for service 2 more times since my last post. I tried the Television support this time to see if I would get a different response. It was quite interesting. The first of the 2 times they refused to listen to me about what the tv was doing. They said reset the box and if it comes back call them. I told them I had already reset the box but that didn't matter. The 2nd time I called. I explained to them that I was sitting in front of the tv watching it pixilate. The checked his computer and said everything was in normal parameters. Then he tells me he will send a technician out to find out if I have a real problem. Sometimes it is very difficult not to chew the end off of my tongue. Since, I can't seem to find any way to escalate this problem. I'm going to try and send a nice snail mail to the CEO of the company and see if that does anything

When did you last try connecting directly to the modem? I looked from this end and it appears the currently connected device has been connected for at least going back several months. Would it be possible to try testing directly again?
