Here we go again. I am seeing my internet connection drop 8-15 times per day now that the heat is back. What happens is my upstream channels hit 51dbMv and my connection drops. Last year, I ended up canceling my television because the use of a splitter caused this problem to be happening more than 25 times per day. The tech that came out said the problem was at the street box and that someone had crushed a bunch of connectors, causing a noise issue in the lines.
Come on Cox. Figure this issue out. If I had the option of going to Century Link I would drop you in an instant.

Was this ever fixed? If not, thats probably still your problem. Did you ever see a bucket truck at your pole? upstream is too high at 51dB and if the problem is outside, then your best bet is to call for a technician.

Yep. It was fixed, but now it's back. I will call them after we return from vacation. Just hate the hassle of dealing with the first line support:
OK, lets reboot the modem and see if that fixes it....Ugh.

Yea, I feel your pain in so many ways. If your confident its the same problem then just call them and skip the automated system and then requect a technician. If you have to stretch the truth a bit and say you already did the troubleshooting with someone else, then so be it. Just be warned if by chance it is something else, and something inside the house, it may cost money to fix.
Do you think someone damaged the box outside again or do you think they never fixed it to begin with? How long ago was it?
