Remote Malfunctioning with new Sony TV

I have two Cox Remotes that are not sending the correct signals to my brand new Sony TV.  The Cox remotes are the same model number URC-8820-CISCO.

For the most of the time, the Cox remotes control the TV fine.  Now and then, the "Input" button causes the TV to pop an error on the screen "feature is not supported".  I am verifying that I press the 'TV" button to make sure I am controlling the TV before I press Input button.

Thoughts?
