The strangest thing, my remote and receiver works perfectly all day, until around 6 or 7pm in the evening. Then all night it is very slow and I have to hold the buttons on the remote down for 4 or 5 seconds to get each to respond. It just ignores my clicks unless I hold the buttons down. Has anyone else had this issue???

Sounds like interference from a light source in the room. Does the receiver respond normally if you press the buttons on the receiver?

I think Health Edge is on the right track. Some TVs emit a frequency of light similar to the IR from the remote, preventing the IR eye on the receiver from recognizing commands from the remote. It's possible that adjusting the brightness and/or backlight settings on your TV may help the remote better communicate with the receiver. Play with the settings a bit and let us know if things improve!

I'd just turn the TV off completely and see if the sluggish behavior goes away. If it doesn't, it's not the TV's brightness or backlight setting.
