Raising Upload speed?

As it stands right now, my family is on the Preferred package and receives barely 500KB/s upload speed for our connection. With four people in the house, at least two online at once, this is not nearly enough. The only suggestion we've received is to upgrade our internet package to Premiere or Ultimate, which we do not need. Our download speed is fine so I see no reason to pay $20 or more for that.

Will Cox ever be raising the Upload speed caps, or do you offer the option to upgrade the Upload speeds alone? I've been putting off a switch to Verizon's Fiber but at this rate our connection is becoming unusable with Cox's low speed caps.

Hi Jagick,

At this time, there is not an option to only upgrade upload speeds. We do not have any info on whether upload speeds will be increasing in the near future. With the Preferred Plan, you should have up to 5mbps on upload. The 500kb, is that a wireless or wired result? Are all devices receiving similar upload?

Thanks,

500KB or Kb? If it's KB, that is about 4Mbps, which isn't that bad for Preffered. Optimal is 5-6Mbps.

What modem/gateway do you have and how are you connecting? What is performance wired?

Bandwidth caps don't restrict your upload speed, only how much data you can move across that connection. If your not getting the speed for your tier, I suggest troubleshooting that before considering upgrade.
