Programming cox remote to control tv on/off and volume
I have an LG tv that it am having trouble programming the remote cox gives you to control the tv on/off and volume. It worked with my previous tv. It tried following the instructions that are in my standard guide from cox pressing select and mute, waiting until tv button flashes twice then holding select only until the device turns off, but it does not work.
I am looking for some help to get the tv programmed on the cox remote.

What kind of remote do you have? From your OP I am guess one of the newer black ones?
Also, what model LG TV do you have? Most common code for LG is 1423, but for more codes, see here.
1. Search for the device code in the UEI Code Finder.
2. Turn on the DEVICE you wish to program.
3. Press and release the DEVICE key.
4. Press and hold MUTE + SELECT simultaneously until the DEVICE key blinks twice then release both keys.
5. Enter the first 4-digit code listed for your brand.
6. Press the POWER key to test DEVICE control. If the DEVICE turns off, you have found the correct code and it was saved automatically.
