Premier Speeds - Under 20
In another thread, it was suggested to start my own thread for very low transfer rates:

Whoa, when plugged directly into the modem, I get the following:

I thought the problem was the router so I bought a brand new Linksys AC1900 router and updated all the firmware for the new router.
I still only get barely 20 Mbps when I am 1' away from the router and modem with no devices connected except for 1 computer.
But when I plug into the modem, I get 50 Mbps. Is it typical to get a drop off of more than 30+ Mbps just because I am on WiFi? Could there be a problem with the modem connecting to the router? I bought a new data cable as well, so that should not be the problem.

Sounds like some type of network issue. If you connect wired to router, is it faster? If so, then probably wireless congestion or some type of interference. If its still slow wired to router its probably some sort of configuration issue with the router.

I think I found the problem. The configuration that I had was from the service connection from my wall I had the modem, then the router. From the router, I ran a CAT5 to the whole house network. My tests were run with this configuration.
When I disconnected the CAT5 for the whole house LAN, I got speeds 30+ Mbps. I am going to get a switch and put it between the modem and router to see if this will take the burden off of the WiFi.
