Plug-ins

Is there a version of your web based email that doesn't require proprietary plugins?  While in HTML editor, I get a "this plug-in not supported" message in the middle of the narrative box.  I am using a Chrome OS device.  Thank you for your help.

Neither use Cox proprietary plugins. Or do you mean proprietary as in not open source? Classic webmail uses HTML while enhanced uses Flash. They had a mobile version, but they took that down some years ago. I think your talking about the graphical editor which uses Java, which is a pain. Try this testing site to see if it works on your machine. If Java is a security risk for you, then I suggest either enhanced webmail or using a client like Thunderbird or your OS's email default. As long as its compatible with POP/IMAP/SMTP it should work.

Classic Webmail does require Java Runtime Engine to be installed but only if you use the HTML editor for email.  You can disable that as the default email editor by clicking Settings.  You may also have the option to setup your email account using whatever email client your device provides as an alternative.
