Please update my modem firmware to the latest version.
Hello,
Can you please update my modem firmware to the latest version? My current information is below. My Internet plan is for maximum 300 Mbps download and whenever I run the speed test I get about 175 Mbps only. I have an ASUS RT-N66U router with the latest firmware.
Also if there is another router or modem you can suggest that would make my connection faster, if needed, please suggest any hardware upgrades.

I'd also recommend avoiding the SB6190 until they get this latency issue resolved. If it wasn't confirmed on DSLR that Arris is aware of the issue and working to fix it, then I would have sold my 6190 and went with a Netgear CM600.

That DPC3010 is only 8x4... you want a modem that's either 16 or 24 downstream channels. Cox let you have Ultimate Internet with that modem...?

Thanks for your comments Chris. I think you might be onto something, based on this Cox supported devices list:

I don't know that they "let me" have Ultimate Internet. That's a funny way to put it. I think I asked them what devices were supported and this one is, but apparently not for Ultimate.
I'm happy to buy a better modem if I can get faster speeds.

Yeah, normally they check your equipment before upgrading you to a specific speed, they're supposed to anyways. The Motorola SB6183 is probably your best bet if you don't have Cox phone service.

Thanks. Isn't the SB6183 an ARRIS / Surfboard modem? Any problem with the ARRIS / Surfboard SB6190? It's on the supported list.

Don't get the SB6190. Stay away from anything using the Puma 6 chip like the SB6190 and Netgear CM700. Stick with either the Arris/Motorola SB6183 or the Netgear CM600 IMO. The Linksys CM3024 would be the Linksys version of CM600 if you want to stay in brand, but I haven't seen much feedback on that model yet. Nevermind, looks like CM3024 uses Puma 6 too.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I did get the SB6190 because I'm in too much of a hurry to pay attention apparently. The good news is my speed went from 179Mbps to 370Mbps. The bad news is when I run Multiping the latency on this thing is all over the place. I already ordered a Netgear CM600 to replace it.
