PAC-12 Channel with Mini Box, Cox TV Essential

Am in Phoenix area. Have installed Mini Box but do not receive Channels 75-76. Channel 75 (PAC-12) appears on the lineup card for Cox TV Essential. Why am I not getting channel 75? Channel 76 is also missing. Cox Tech came out to diagnose and could not get it to work either.

Hi Ispeak,

What message are you receiving on channels 75 (PAC-12 Arizona) and 76 (Univision Deportes) through the Mini Box? Has this channel ever come in through the Mini Box before?

I'm getting no message. When selecting channel 75 I get channel 74. When selecting channel 76 I get channel 77. These channels have never come through the Mini Box. Tech even connected a temporary cable from Cox box to Mini Box and the channel did not come through.

I am having the same problem along with one of my neighbors.   We both have new mini boxes in the last week and both have Cox TV Essentials package.   There is no message on screen when we try to access those channels.   When trying ch. 75 Pac-12 it goes to ch. 74 and when trying 76 it goes to 77.

I can access Pac-12 through an iPad app.   It asks me to select my cable provider and login.   Then it works fine.   That shows that I am qualified to receive that channel with my cable subscription.   We would really like to get this working on the TV with the Mini Box.

I'd be interested if anyone reading this is using a Mini Box and receiving channels 75 and channel 76. My experience is the same as gmartinson. In addition to the iPad app, one can stream PAC-12 channel to a Windows PC.

Hi lspeak & gmartinson,

The mini box channel lineup includes the majority of the Digital Essential channels; however, not all channels in the Digital Essential tier are available through the mini box. The exceptions vary by market and depend on our contractual obligations to each network in that particular market. I apologize for the confusion!

Thanks for the response, ReneeG. But how do we as customers of Cox find out what channels we will really receive with a package and hardware? I see nothing on the Mini Box description that says it may not deliver all channels. My Channel Lineup when I go into my own account doesn't hint at channels not being delivered. It isn't as if I'm in a tiny market. I'd think Phoenix is large enough that Cox could and should be complete and accurate with its sales and service information. Sounds like bait and switch -- Cox advertises one thing, delivers less than is advertised. Furthermore, why doesn't Cox know this information itself? I had a service call by Cox to try to get channels 75/76 working, if Cox knows the Mini Box doesn't support these channels then why did Cox send out a tech to try to solve the problem. The tech spent over an hour, didn't get the channels working and didn't have an answer.

Hi lspeak,

Since your market is in the middle of the all-digital transition, the Arizona PDF channel lineup on cox.com is not up-to-date. However, channel 75 PAC-12 Arizona and 76 Univision Deportes are denoted by the Δ  symbol. This indicates that the channel requires either an Advanced TV Receiver, Contour Receiver or Cox provided CableCARD™ together with a certified compatible CableCard retail device. Here's a link to the current PDF in your area: http: //bit. ly/1RllzVM.  I understand your frustration and sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Simple price gouging for Cox economy customers--the only way to get the channels you originally subscribed to is to add an $8 box to each TV.  I can't wait for a streaming alternative in my area.
