Is there anyway to find out what ports are open so I can set up an ip camera for outer access? I have one set up now that's working fine but, I bought a new one and while I can run it on the local network....it's not picking up the port I'm using for the outer access, which is the same for the inner access. How can I find out what ports are open so I can change it to view remotely? I've run a program called, Open Port Check Tool and I've gone through numerous port numbers and all are closed except for the one that I have the first camera on. Is Cox blocking these other ports?

Hi chaianne,
I can provide you with a link to the list of ports that we do block, please click on the following link: http://bit.ly/Xy3xAG. Any port that is not on this listed is not being blocked by us and should be available to use. Hope you find this information helpful!

Thanks a bunch Derrick. None of these are the one I'm trying to use. I did get the camera working by going into the router and changing the last number from 2 to 6 and it took it okay. The port I'm using, once I changed this with the router, picked right up. Now I'm having problems with the upload speed but I'll look in the forums to see if I can find the answer there to what's going on. My download speed that I just ran with Cox is 13.76 and my upload is 1.68 so there's an issue somewhere that needs to be dealt with. Again, thanks a bunch for you help. I appreciate it.
