When we are finished watching a show on a particular channel on demand, how do we go to another show on he same natwork?

You can't. After each time watching a movie it should give you a option to "go back to menu" or something similar. You have to go into the menu and select the movie you want.

With that said, if you find yourself going back into the same menu over and over, next time your on that menu, press Info, and it should tell you the channel for that menu. So next time you want to go back, you just have to punch in that channel. Or you can even make that channel a favorite. So you can make it easier, but their is no direct link between content like you get with Youtube or Netflix with "Next video" option.
