October 14 NBC changes from channel 9 to channel 2

On October 14 NBC shows will change from channel 9 to channel 2. Is it necessary that I go into my edits on my DVR for all NBC shows and make the change or will Cox automatically do it? The notice of the change was at the bottom of "Mysteries of Laura" that we watched from our DVR Sat. night. Rose Lady

The date of the change is Oct. not March. Rose Lady

Rose Lady,

I wouldn't want you to miss recording any of your favorite shows! I suggest checking your Series Manager and Scheduled Recordings for recordings on NBC on the 14th, especially if you have the recordings set to record specifically on channel 9. If the series set to "all channels" you'll probably be ok.  WGN moves to channel 9 in your area on the same date that NBC (KJRH Tulsa moves to channel 2.

"How will this affect the shows you have set to record on your DVR? It won't. Your shows will continue to record. It's based on the program you're wanting to save and not the channel the program is on."

Dunno if this is correct with Cisco/Contour or not.

For all of us with Tivos, you (Cox) need to get the change info to the TV schedule channel guide providers.  I have contacted Tivo and they are following up from their end, but you need to push the info out so the channel guides are corrected.

In the meantime we have to identify all of the NBC programs we have on the Season Pass and create Manual Recordings for those shows until the channel guide is corrected and we can update our Season Pass entries for NBC (KJRH).  The WGN change will only affect us if we record in non-HD Ch 2.  WGN HD did not change.
