I'm just paying my bill and I'm greeted by the most unprofessional disgusting ad that has zero relevance and is just offensive and stupid.
how dare cox resort to this! Why don't you just put an add for how to treat your diarrhea?. There is no excuse for this. Would you expect to see this on a billboard in front of the local cox store? No? well, get it off the official site.
If I don't get a response concerning actions taken to ensure this doesn't appear again, I will notify local media to take up the story. "Fat Cox bikini girls"

I don't feel it's obscene but it does contain subliminal messaging. Also, James has a valid point that it shouldn't be on the website of a telecommunications company. As a subscriber, I consider my monthly Cox statement as a utility bill. I wouldn't want to see this ad on the websites of my electrical, gas or insurance companies or as an insert with their monthly bill. It is very unprofessional.
First, it's a cartoon of a fat lady in her bra and panties holding her stomach. As for subliminal messaging, what does her stomach look like? A stomach isn't bisectional, knobby and mushroom-like. The playful curls in her hair and sultry make-up give her a temptress appearance. Her shocked, startled or stunned face also suggests a sexual reaction.
Why wouldn't the marketers use a picture of an actual woman? An actual woman in her bra and panties holding her stomach? Because that would be overtly "trashy" and more difficult to engineer a sexual suggestion into a small ad window.
Second, Dr Oz Miracle in a Bottle is a fraudulent health product. It's an unproven snake oil of questionable or unverifiable benefit with boisterous marketing. This is an ad marketed towards the simpleminded and desperate. I'd expect to see it as a late-night television commercial or on the website of a tabloid.
This ad does question the integrity and confidence of a company that lauds itself in "pioneering...excellence...leadership...youth and education." You should honor James' request and remove it.

We cannot control, nor does the FCC allow controlling or editing commercials or ads. We are required to run these commercials or ads as long as they are paid for.

Way to respond like a shady website!! Pathetic. Cox has no control over what's on it's site??? How dare you insult my intelligence. I never see those adds on microsoft.com home page, duh????. How come I don't see adds for "sleep with a teen in your neighborhood" then, huh?? If you have not control, I mean, ANYTHING could be there. I'm fully aware that if you agree with some 3rd party to put their ads, and you accept their money, then you have to show them. But that is the point!!!! You have to tell your 3rd party that those are not acceptable and limit yourself to some 3rd party who can guarantee the adds meet a certain professional standard. By making this absolutely ludicrous remark, you lower your company to the level of some shady torrent site and make COX sound like an incompetent company that can't control what's on it's website. I'm not some gullible grandma. I'm a web programmer and I know exactly how the site works and ads work, so get your act together.
All you've done so far is add more fodder for me to take this story public. I'll give you one more chance before I escalate this up the Cox org chart to the whoever's in charge of communications and marketing. And if they don't handle it with professionalism, I will go public, and I'll have documented from "the forums" all the way to the manager of marketing /public relations. This is not a joke or a random youtube rant. This is a serious public relations blunder that needs to be corrected.

Thank you for taking this seriously as it is as much for Cox's benefit as for my own. I'll wait for 1 week to see if the issue is corrected. If so, I'll take no further action. If nothing is done, Cox will hear from me again.
