Not able to setup Cox remote with Sony XBR 55X850C.

What model box and remote are you using? Will the remote power the TV on and off? It's possible it may need to use a different code. This site will list all the codes that should work with the remote and model TV you have : http://www.urcsupport.com/

I am using Cox URC8820. and My TV is Sony Bravia X850C.

Corresponding code for the TV is 8. I followed all steps in the instruction.

It doesn't activate the Master Power Key feature.

Should I do something else?

Try the four digit code 0810. Alternately, use the directions on the battery cover on the remote: 1) Turn on the device you want to program and point the remote at the device you are programming.
2) Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT buttons together until one of the device keys blinks twice, then release both buttons.
3) Press and release the desired device key (e.g. TV, DVD, or AUX)
4) Press and hold the SELECT key until the device turns off then release

Test your remote to see if it set to operate the TV and cable box.
