We have Cox Advanced TV service and High Speed internet Preferred service. We just started having problems receiving some TV channels today. We have both older analog TVs and newer LED digital TVs plugged into the wall directly. We do not use set top boxes (STBs). We are no longer able to receive CNN, HGTV, Fox News and others. The regular network channels - ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX as well as CNBC still work. Any idea what's going on? We are in Springfield, VA - zip code: 22151.

It sounds like there could be some possible signal issues causing those channels not to come in. Does this happen on more than one TV? Do you have any splitters connected?

Has your area perhaps started its digital transition? Once Cox goes all-digital in your area, you won't receive any channels without using a set-top box.
Question: Why do you have Advanced TV without any set-top boxes?

We called Cox and found out that there was scheduled maintenance that was causing the outage. It happened on all TVs. We have splitters, but we have had service for about 1-1/2 years without any issues. Thus just happened yesterday. The TV channels are back now.

We are aware of the "all-digital" transition (which we are NOT looking forward to). We found out from Cox that there was scheduled maintenance in the area which was causing the outage. The digital transition will not start in our area for another 8 months at least.
I miswrote in the original post. We do have one set-top box, but all other TVs are connected directly to the wall. The issue occurred on all TVs (including the one with the set top box).
