NEW WEBMAIL APP IS AWFUL!
Can someone please tell us whether or not we can access webmail using the old client?!?!? The "new and improved" webmail app is horrible! Am I doing something wrong? Moving messages to and from various folders is virtually impossible to do, and deleting messages using this app is very frustrating. Certainly I can't be the only customer experiencing difficult with this enhancement?

Are you talking about webmail using a computer? If so, there should be a option to select "Classic webmail" when you sign in. If your computer is set to automatically sign in, you might need to sign out first to see the option.

Once an area is upgraded to the new webmail platform the option to revert to classic is no longer available. The new version does use the latest HTML 5 technology so you'll want to make sure you're on the most recent version of your favorite browser for it to work correctly. If you're wanting to delete multiple messages at once it should be as simple as checking them and clicking the Delete link in the center of the reading pane. You can do the same thing to move items to folders by clicking Move instead of Delete.

Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. I am using a just-installed Firefox Mozilla browser. No matter which device I use - iPad, iPhone, PC, or Macbook, the new app is horribly slow. You are right, deleting multiple messages "SHOULD" be as simple as checking them and clicking delete link. However, it takes forever for the message list to re-populate. This new app stinks. i can only guess that some decision-maker's nephew developed it and sold it to Cox. This is so frustrating. It's slow and less user-friendly than the "classic" version, which is no longer even an option. Bad move by Cox. Ready to vote elsewhere with my dollars.

On the bright side for Cox, the ads ($$$) they sell always populate and display quickly....they got that part working pretty well.

I've been using it for a while now and haven't had any significant problems beyond learning my way around a new interface. Webmail isn't recommended for mobile devices. They usually have their own built-in email solutions that provide more efficient access to you email. It might be worth clearing your browser's cookies/cache to see if that helps any for the PC/Mac type devices.

It's just odd that it would be suggested that webmail shouldn't be used on mobile devices. Yahoo, GMail, and other smaller web-based webmail services distribute mobile apps FOR that purpose or design interfaces that work on them. Cox should learn that people do use mobile devices, and not everyone wants to set up their account using device-based clients. Can we please just get back the old webmail interface? It actually worked. I have about 2300 mail messages in my webmail inbox folder. I can't spend 8 hours trying to delete messages and move them to various subfolders. The constant re-populating of the message list after practically every task is unbearable.

Unfortunately once the migration is completed the previous webmail platform is no longer available as how it is functionally obsolete and starting to become incompatible with current web browsers. I can understand if you prefer webmail over the mobile device email system. Is there anything in particular you liked better about webmail vs the mobile email app? Maybe there's another solution to the problem you're experiencing.

The little orange box that pops up saying "Server Unreachable" is almost as frustrating as the message "Could not load this list. Retry"

There may be a bigger problem with your email account we need to look at. If you can't access it correctly with your mobile device's email app it usually won't work well in webmail either. Email us at cox.help@cox.com with your account details and we can check for problems for you.

@ChrisL, I appreciate your desire to be helpful. The old interface was simple and it actually worked. I could go into my webmail account from any device from anywhere in the world. I could click the checkbox next to the message that I wanted to work with and delete it or move it to a folder without a lot of trouble. The latency with the new app is horrible, regardless of where I am working, what device i am using, or what OS/browser I am running. In short, it's slower, much slower, and much more cumbersome to accomplish what were simple tasks.

Just tried to send the e-mail you suggested. Got an internal server could not accomplish the task message. Just another enhancement, I guess.

I actually found your account and indeed found a problem with your primary email address. I made some changes on this end which should hopefully complete within an hour or so. Give it a try then and let us know if you're still having any problems.

@ChrisL, thank you for your effort today. Unfortunately, I just went through this a couple of weeks ago, and someone found a problem and made a fix. Folks should not have to go through all this just to get webmail to work. Please understand, that while I appreciate your help, a company with the resources of Cox should not be having all this webmail trouble. This is ridiculous, and at this point, I really just want to get my important emails migrated to gmail or yahoo. Cox obviously does not have serious solutions to all their e-mail troubles yet.

For what it's worth I think the problem may have been with your email mailbox and not the webmail. I just got confirmation that the changes I initiated are complete. Let me know if you still see any problems.
