New mini box remote not working 100%

Yea, those tiny remotes don't work with as many devices as the larger remotes. Anyone know if it's possible to program a older silver remote to work with mini boxes? Do the Cisco mini boxes use the same code as the Cisco DVR/receivers?

If I was sure, I wouldn't have said AFAIK. All Cisco DTAs refer to the same data sheet

That data sheet says "◦ Uses the same remote codes as Cisco Explorer® products"

The reason I asked was because I decoded the Cisco mini-box ir codes and they appear to match the evolution mini-box info that was posted in an adjacent thread.  And Tivo users wouldn't be up in arms trying to get their Tivo's to control the mini-boxes.

Does Cox use two different mini-box remotes? (One for the Evolution mini-box, one for the Cisco mini-box)

There are three ways to program the remote for the mini box: 

• The "Popular Brands" option
• The "Code Search" option
• The "Direct Code Entry" option

Option 1 and 2 allow the remote to search for a code that will work. Option 3 allows you a bit more control by entering a specific code. If you programed the remote using option 1 or 2, try option 3.

The code that should work for your Magnavox TV (15MF605T) is 1365. Other codes that may work are 1454, 2597, 3623, 1963, 0171, 0051, and 1755. Try the following: 

1. Turn on the TV you wish to program.
2. Press and hold the SETUP until the POWER button blinks twice.
3. Enter 1365.
4. Press the POWER button to test TV control. If the TV turns off, you have found the correct code and setup is complete.
5. If the TV does not turn off, repeat this process trying each code listed for your TV brand until you find the correct code.
