New COX DVR Badly Designed

Like other posts on this forum I am shocked that the new COX DVR is so badly designed..  Menus confusing, no grid favorites view, no one button guide to TV view.  In an effort to tke control over their own product they have settled for a substandard product, believe without improvements soon I'll be switching providers.

Confusing in what way? After how many days of use? I, too, was confused at first (being used to Passport), but after a week or two I liked Trio (Contour) better. It's called a learning curve.

"...no grid favorites view"

I actually like the favorites list view. The next nine or so hours of programming available at a glance.

"...no one button guide to TV view."

I don't really know what you're referring to, here. If you're looking for one button to get you out of the guide and back to TV, it's the white EXIT button.

Add to that the 2 1/2 or 3 hour grid view, the multiple user support, the 16:9 guide format, and number other features (like changing the date/time of the guide {which I do daily}, 14 days of listings versus Passport's 7), etc., and it's just a matter of time until you like Trio (Contour) better, too. What guide were you using until now?

I'll add in that I really wish that when you were fast forwarding and press the play button that the DVR would jump back a few seconds so that you actually get to where your show starts without having to manually rewind.

TWC's DVRs lost that ability in their latest software upgrade as well. I'm afraid that function might have been lost as part of the recent TiVo vs. Cisco/Motorola/Cox/TWC patent violation lawsuit. Dunno for sure, though.
