New cable modem registration?
In upgrading my service from Preferred to Premier, I am moving to a new Cisco Docsis 3.0 compliant modem. Do we need to register the new modem with Cox, or is that not required any more?

You have to register the modem with Cox, thats a given, but you have some options in how you do it. If you buy it from a Cox store, they should do it for you. If you buy it from a non Cox store, you either need to call up and give them the Serial Number (S/N) and the customer MAC address, or use the self registration system. I would suggest calling up though, because if your upgrading your modem AND your service to premier, they also have to change a service code on your account to give you the DOCSIS 3.0 version of Premier which is faster.
