Moving dvr to another room
i need to move my dvr to another room, what is the proper procedure to safely power down the dvr and reconnect and power up?

Really isn't a procedure exactly. Just unplug it and plug it in the new room. The important question is if the outlet your moving it to has enough cable signal. After plugging the box in, give it a couple minuet to boot up. You may also loose your guide data for up to 15min.

Simple. Unplug DVR AC power. Unscrew coaxial cable from DVR input. Disconnect output cable(s). Move to new location. Connect output cable(s). Screw coaxial cable into DVR input. Plug in AC power and allow a few minutes for boot-up.
