Modem/Router

I would like to know why you can only have 1 modem and/or Router.  I have devices in various rooms that are NOT wireless but I can't use them without having cables running all through my house.  You don't have to just have 1 cable box, for TV's in various rooms so why should you only be allowed 1 modem??  I have a desktop in 1 bedroom and bluray player that is not wireless in the living room which I now can't use because the bedroom desktop has to have the modem and the router in there.  I would have to run a USB cable from the Living Room through the entire house to get to the Router in the Bedroom.

Internet services are actually tied to the modem.  Multiple modems can be done easily enough however would result in billing for additional occurrences of Internet service.  For your situation there are devices available that may help.  I would suggest looking into some of the powerline bridge devices available or they also even have wireless to Ethernet bridges that can allow wired devices to connect wirelessly.
