Minibox

I have ordered and received two miniboxs. They did not activate automatically after install, but successfully completed activation by going online and requesting activation. The problem is the guide only has three channels and those are not receiving any content. I live in Gloucester, Va. They were sending me e-mails to activate the boxes the day I received them.

I think I've gotten this squared away for you. Please access the settings menu and rescan for channels. Let me know what happens.

ColleenD I performed the channel scan on one of the two Miniboxs soon after activating them. It didn't change anything. But after almost an hour an a half after the on-line activation the channel lineup and signal appeared and then later it was actually populated. This happened to both Miniboxs. While the setup instructions were pretty straight forward, it didn't mention you may lose your signal for over an hour or more while the channel lineup is downloaded to the box. The remotes provided do not replace all the functions of the original manufactures. So you still need to keep batteries in both to get those functions. It seems to me that cox has found another way to charge me more, for cable content that I was already paying for. I have decided not to rent Miniboxs for the other tvs that are just plugged into the wall. I am investigating a digital tv antenna system that could cut the cable cord.

I have the same issue.  I activated my mini box and I get some channels, but many are missing including all of my local channels.  I tried doing another channel scan but I am getting the same results.

HI Louie, how long has it been since you performed the channel scan? It may take up to an hour for it to program.

Thanks, I did not wait for an hour.  I will try it again when I get home on the 1st.  Also, can you clarify which channels are available, there seems to be conflicting information.  Is it essential channels or just the very basic ones.

Hi Louie V, 

The Mini Boxes will have access to TV Starter and TV Essential channels, depending on the packages subscribed per account.
