Yes, another Minibox thread but not really a question as much as an observation. I hope Cox is developing a long term solution to try and draw cord-cutters back to their TV service but the Minibox seems like another indication they are going the wrong direction. I understand this can't happen overnight but making people pay MORE money for MORE boxes in their house where they could previously just have a TV connected to the wall port is definitely a step in the wrong direction. All of the cable boxes already cost enough in rental fees/taxes/service fees and now they want us to pay for additional boxes. Other cable providers are going the route of offering an app where you login with your account details and get TV channels more in the internet streaming format (like Sling or Playstaiton Vue) rather than nickel and dime their customers with multiple box charges. Again, I'm sure the infrastructure to set something like that up is a massive undertaking but I just hope the higher-ups at Cox are planning for it or they will get left behind. Cord cutters are only growing and things like Minibox isn't making it any more appealing for people to sign up for cable.

They're called Cord Cutters...not Box Cutters. Cable TV service in any fashion is just a bad value. People gave up and moved to the Internet.

I agree they need a long term plan. With Gigablast, I hope they go with IPTV. That way they still use MoCA and the coaxial in the house to network the boxes.
